About Erawan National Park

Erawan National Park

Erawan National Park, located in the Tenasserim Hills of the Kanchanaburi Province in western Thailand, spans over 200 square miles. The park is named after the three-headed white elephant of Hindu mythology, Erawan, which is said to be symbolized by the top tier of the famous Erawan Waterfalls. The terrain is characterized by limestone formations, dense forests, and numerous streams. Established in 1975, Erawan National Park is one of Thailand's oldest national parks, attracting visitors with its impressive waterfalls, caves, and abundant wildlife, including elephants, deer, and unique bird species. Key recreation opportunities include hiking through the dense forest trails to explore the waterfalls and caves, bird watching, and enjoying a refreshing swim in the emerald green pools. Notable landmarks in the park include the Phra That Cave, which houses spectacular stalagmites and stalactites, and Hill 1090, which provides stunning panoramic views of the region.
